The Best Kept Secret to Passive Income: Insider Tip

I was recently halted in my tracks, literally, due to a nasty bike accident. My right side was hurt the most, mainly my fingers, right hand, wrist, and back of my knee. I had no mobility in my right hand and was unable to work on my laptop. Here is where the beauty of Affiliate Marketing and Passive Income kicked in.

What is Affiliate Marketing

The concept of affiliate marketing is quite simple – you (the affiliate) earn a commission by promoting other people’s or company’s (merchant), products.

What I love about it is that you don’t have to buy expensive inventory which just may wind up sitting in your garage or basement!

One of the best ways to promote these products is through a website.

How I Started

Like many seniors, I was facing retirement with just a pension and very little savings.

Although I had an education and good-paying jobs, I made poor financial and personal decisions that didn’t provide me with as much of an income as I would have liked upon retirement.

Two years ago, I had heard the buzz about affiliate marketing from my friend Randy in London, Ontario, and started my search for learning what it meant, what passive income meant, and the BEST way to get started.

Passive Income – Proof It Works

It took me two years of working my business to start seeing a return. Some people do it in less than a year. It comes down to how much time you are willing to invest, how determined you are to succeed, and vowing to never give up!

If you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die. ~Warren Buffet

My Advice To You

Don’t wait until you’re a senior to start. If your income has been affected by this recent pandemic you are in the perfect place at the right time; if you are a graduating student who isn’t interested in traditional education, this is for you; if you are being phased out of your job, this is for you. If your income has been affected negatively in any way, I suggest now is the time to think strongly about creating an online business. Any time is the right time to earn a passive income,.

If you think the market or your passion/interest is saturated, here are some recent figures that should convince you that’s not true.

  • Yearly affiliate marketing spending is projected to hit $6.8 billion

  • According to Google Trends, the search for the term “affiliate marketing” grew by 44% in less than a year.

  • 81% of brands use affiliate marketing

  • 79% of marketers seek it to engage existing customers

  • Male affiliates control the marketing platform (I would like to see more women involved)

  • The three top affiliate niches are Fashion, followed by Sports & Outdoors, and Health/Wellness & Beauty

  • 23% of revenue for advertisers comes from affiliate marketing

  • ShareASale owns more than half (55.7%) of the market share

  • AWIN affiliates earned more than $700 million in 2018

  • Mobile devices account for more than 50% of affiliate-referred traffic

  • Who hasn’t heard of Groupon? Groupon is one of the top companies based on commissions from affiliates

  • 35% of affiliates make over $20,000/year with 9% making over $50,000 (you could be one of them)

  • Top affiliates such as Pat Flynn make 6+ figures/year

Why Affiliate Marketing

There are many reasons why affiliate marketing makes sense, now more than ever:

  • Race, formal education, or age are not barriers; 12% are age 55 and above, 31.86% are age 35-44

  • You can work from home

  • Not locked in 9-5 (set your hours)

  • You don’t pay anything but you earn (commissions) when you perform

  • Cost-effective (little to no startup costs unless you need to buy a laptop/computer or mobile phone)

  • Lots of available information

  • No costly inventory or starter kits to buy (which is a BIG plus for me).

Final Thoughts

So what happened when I had my accident and couldn’t function, much less work on my laptop? While I was laid up, wrist, and leg in support, I had the beauty of affiliate marketing and passive income to see me through. This was such an amazing feeling! What would you do with an extra $600/month, $1,000/month, $2,000/month, or more? What are you waiting for?

Residual income is passive income that comes in every month whether you show up or not.  It’s when you no longer get paid on your personal efforts alone, but you get paid on the efforts of hundreds or even thousands of others and on the efforts of your money!  It’s one of the keys to financial freedom and time freedom. ~Steve Fisher
